ABOUT

Game Designer at Preloaded with over 7 years of experience, I'm dedicated to creating engaging digital experiences that captivate players. My expertise spans game design, level design, and narrative design, with a strong foundation in Maya and Unity.

In 2018, I co-founded Moonshine Studios, where I served as Lead Designer for 4 years. At Moonshine, I directed the creative vision for Get Packed and helped secure funding from publisher Coatsink. Get Packed was later chosen as one of Google Stadia's first exclusives and received an 81-point Metacritic score on launch, making it the highest-rated Stadia game of that year. I'm grateful for the recognition my work has received, including being listed on MCV/DEVELOP's 30 under 30 in 2020.

Co-Founder, Game Designer and 3D Artist - Moonshine Studios

At Moonshine Studios, I served as the Lead Designer, overseeing level, game, and narrative design while also assisting with art direction, pitching, UI creation, 3D modeling, VFX, and QA.

In April 2020, Moonshine Studios released its debut title, Get Packed, in collaboration with publisher Coatsink. Announced as one of the first Stadia exclusive games at Google's 2019 E3 Stadia Connect, Get Packed received an impressive 81-point Metacritic score upon launch, making it the highest-rated Stadia game of that year.

The following year, an expanded version of the game, titled Get Packed: Fully Loaded, was released on Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and Stadia. In April 2022, the latest installment, Get Packed: Couch Chaos, made its debut on Switch and Luna.


Junior Designer - ISO Design

November 2015 -  May 2017

At ISO, I assisted with the design and development of over 20 interactives and games. This included playing a key role in the creation of interactives for major museums and visitor experiences such as Epic Ireland, Kuwait Palace, and the National Museum of Scotland. I also provided technical assistance, QA, and R&D for technologies such as Multitaction, Kinect and Oculus.

During my time at ISO, I was selected for a short-term placement in BBC Scotland's digital department where I created interactive videos, pitched ideas for VR projects, and tested motion capture and 360° video equipment.

Awards

30 Under 30 MCV / Develop

April 2020

In 2020 I was recognised as one of the 30 under 30 individuals in the game industry due to my work at Moonshine Studios developing Get Packed.

Prize For Commercial Potential - Design In Action

July 2015

I was awarded this prize for creating a “well thought-through honours project from a commercial viewpoint in terms of polish, direction and brand”.  For my project I created a horror game titled 'Last Solus' which explored the creation, effect and impact of atmosphere in 3D game environments


Education

Falmouth University. MA Entrepreneurship - Distinction

May 2017 -  May 2018

While pursuing my studies at Falmouth University, I honed my analytical skills by creating comprehensive due diligence documents, project plans, and business strategies. These skills would later prove invaluable in founding and establishing Moonshine Studios.

Abertay University. BA (Hons) Game Design & Production Management - First Class

July 2011 - July 2015

During my time at Abertay, I gained valuable insights into game development, the importance of teamwork, and how to effectively communicate ideas. I also had the privilege of collaborating with industry clients and showcasing my projects at art galleries and events.
